Fading is usually caused by ultraviolet radiation (the sun), but it may also be caused by exposure to greatly contrasting temperatures (hot
and cold). This creates a physical stress on the paint, causing microscopic breakdown and accelerating the fading process.
Fading is a condition that reduces the overall gloss of the paint to a point where waxing no longer restores a shine.
